Andaman Islands
Turquoise bays, WWII-era Cellular Jail history, and some of India’s best coral reefs frame this remote Bay of Bengal archipelago.
October–May offers calmer seas for boat transfers; monsoon suspends many ferries. Book government or private ferries ahead; flights land at Veer Savarkar Airport. Permits protect indigenous reserves—do not attempt contact. Dive only with PADI-affiliated centres carrying oxygen kits. Plastic bans are strict; carry reef-safe sunscreen. Kolkata or Chennai flights are common entry points.
