Jaipur
The Pink City’s amber fortifications, palace courtyards, and jewellers’ bazaars distil Rajput grandeur on the edge of the Thar.
Amber (Amer) Fort’s mirror hall and ramparts deserve a half day; Nahargarh and Jaigarh forts frame sunset panoramas. Johari and Bapu bazaars sell textiles, gems, and pottery—bargain politely. Jantar Mantar’s giant astronomical instruments are a UNESCO site alongside Delhi’s. March heat can be fierce; October–March is the classic season. Pair with Ajmer–Pushkar or Ranthambore by road or rail.
